Welcome to the new HMI World!
HMI World, the online publication of Harvard Medical International, will continue to do a lot of the things it has always done: explore the nuts and bolts of HMI’s programs and partnerships, provide updates on recent and upcoming programs and learning opportunities, and delve into important issues impacting health care delivery, education, and research around the globe.
The new site has been designed to include a wider range of perspectives and voices, establish and nurture a stronger connectivity with faculty colleagues and affiliates, and deepen our relationship with readers. To these ends we have created several new sections, including “Five Questions” (exactly what it sounds like), “Affiliate Spotlight” (a chance to highlight organizations and groups that help make HMI’s programs successful), and “Briefcase” (quick insights from insightful people). The new site also includes Reader Surveys that let you participate in the site, as well as a blog that will bring fresh content to the site continually.
Finally, thanks are in order:
- To members of HMI’s Knowledge Management & Communications team for their thoughtful contributions to the concept, design, and development of the new site,
- To all of HMI’s leadership and staff for their ideas and support, and
- To all of the HMI World readers who have provided feedback and suggestions over the past several months. We hope you continue to do that!
I would also like to thank TANK, the web design firm that worked with HMI to design and develop the new site. The TANK team—including members responsible for understanding and clarifying our needs, project management, design, development, and training—was a model of professionalism, creativity, and teamwork as they worked with us to create the new HMI World.
