Acibadem continues to develop nursing leadership
Since partnering with HMI in 2003, Acibadem Healthcare Group has made the development of its nursing staff a central component of a vigorous alliance focused on improving overall quality in its hospitals. In May, Acibadem welcomed HMI faculty to Istanbul for the third in a series of workshops aimed at helping the network’s nurses develop their leadership capabilities. The partnership continues to address the specific challenges facing the staff at Acibadem, as well as common issues affecting the nursing profession across the globe. Sixty charge nurses from four Acibadem hospitals participated in the recent workshop series. |

Lausanne program gathers leaders to discuss technology and other innovations impacting health care
Health care leaders from across Europe assembled in Switzerland for “Mastering the New Challenges of Health Care,” a five-day executive education course held in May by the Institute for Health Economics and Management of University of Lausanne in conjunction with HMI. The third offering of this annual program examined the current issues facing health care institutions around the world, with the goal of equipping participants with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to navigate their own organizations through change in the wake of shifting economic, social, and political dynamics. |

Symposium at Asan Medical Center covers cutting-edge advances in cancer management and prevention
Together with HMI, Asan Medical Center (AMC) and the University of Ulsan College of Medicine hosted “New Frontiers of Oncology,” the fifth biennial international symposium held in a decade-long series focused on cutting-edge medical research. A highlight of one of HMI’s oldest partnerships, the two-day educational event was held in Seoul, Korea on June 23-24. |
